What counts as a content change
Every maintenance page says "content changes included" and none of them say what that means. Here is where the line sits.

Uptime monitoring tells me before you notice. Hosting is managed, so there is no host to ring and no finger-pointing about whose fault it is — it is mine, and I fix it.
Something breaks after an update
Daily backups mean the previous working version is always a restore away. That is the whole point of paying for backups rather than hoping.
You get hacked
Security patching is applied as it is released, which is what stops most of it. If something does get through, recovery comes out of the plan — not a surprise repair invoice while your site sits offline.

Do I need a separate maintenance plan if I already have a website?
If your site was built as a one-off, yes — someone has to keep it secure, updated and backed up, or it degrades and eventually breaks. A neglected site risks security breaches, slow speeds and lost rankings. A managed monthly plan removes that risk and the surprise repair bills.
Do you maintain WordPress sites?
No — I replace them. Taking on someone else's WordPress install means inheriting twenty or thirty plugins I did not choose, a theme I did not write and a database someone has been adding to for years, and the honest price for that risk is £50–£100/month indefinitely just to stand still. The sites I build are static — no plugins, no database — which is why maintenance is included rather than billed separately. If you run a large WooCommerce store, a membership site or a blog with hundreds of posts, keep WordPress and find a specialist: that is the right answer and I am not the right person for it.
Can I cancel my maintenance plan?
Yes. EdTheDev plans are monthly with no long lock-in — you can cancel with notice, and your site and content are yours to take with you.

When you don't need a plan like this
If your site is a simple static page, you are comfortable with the technical side, and you genuinely do keep on top of updates and backups — you do not need to pay anyone. Keep doing what you are doing.
A plan is worth it when the site earns you money and you have neither the time nor the inclination to babysit it: when a broken booking form on a Friday night costs you a weekend of covers, or when nobody has touched the thing in two years and you have quietly started avoiding looking at it. That is the problem this solves.
And if you are on WordPress: I do not maintain WordPress sites, I replace them. Maintaining an install I did not build means inheriting its plugins, its theme and its database — the honest price for that is £50–£100/month, indefinitely, to stand still. A replacement on a monthly plan costs about the same over three years and ends with a new site that has no plugins to update.
